Advanced Post Manager

Description

This is a tool for developers who want to turbo-charge their custom post type listings with metadata, taxonomies, and more. An intuitive interface for adding (and saving) complex filtersets is provided, along with a drag-and-drop interface for choosing and ordering columns to be displayed. Metaboxes are also automatically generated for all your metadata-entry needs.

  • Add columns to the post listing view
  • Filter post listings by custom criteria
  • Easily add metaboxes to custom post types
  • Automatically add registered taxonomies to post listings
  • Sort by post metadata

See docs/documentation.html in the plugin directory for full documentation.

The team at The Events Calendar stands by our work and offers light support every Wednesday to the community via the WordPress.org support forums. Feel free to ask a question if you’re having a problem with implementation or if you find bugs.

I added this plugin because I needed to sort my events by when they were posted (or last edited), to view the most recent submissions. After installation I realized it does NOTHING – you have to read their documentation, which is really complicated and confusing, and basically it tells you to go write your own code in your functions file according to their formulas – but supposedly this plugin is required before adding your own code will work. It is INSANELY frustrating.

This is a potentially cool plugin, but the inconsistent and incorrect handling of time zone display in the basic version is a red flag for us to justify upgrading. The pages upon pages of troubleshooting FAQs and forums related to this bug throw responsibility back to we end users. The plugin developers should recode their app to use the time zone in the WordPress settings and be done with falling through to the web server PHP time zone setting – IF that is the cause of the issue. We simply do not employ full time programmers to debug and chase down faults in this or any other plugin. Time zone settings, recognition and display work just fine in all other areas of our site. If and when this otherwise decent plugin is fixed to handle time zones correctly, I will consider recommending that our non-profit volunteer staffed organization pay the price for the upgrade. Until and unless I see that happen, I’ll keep shopping and evaluating alternatives.

This plugin doesn’t do anything. It says you have to install it and then get a developer to write some code to make it work. That means this isn’t a plugin, it’s just a useless piece of code. The plugin repository should only be for plugins that actually add some functionality to your WordPress website. This “plugin” is just taking up space and confusing people. Did the developers just get bored and decided not to finish their plugin? It should be removed from the plugin repository!

A bit misleading as it doesn’t do anything without coding it into your site. And it does mention this, but only after you have spent time installing and looking around. The interface as seen in the screenshots is not available by default. Why not just make a version that attaches itself to your theme too? Developers will know how to change and edit.
